MLB Rumors: Top 5 Landing Spots For Rickie Weeks

At one point Rickie Weeks was viewed as one of the biggest power threats at second base. But injuries and inconsistency at the plate and in the field have made many feel that he is a liability. With an expensive option that the Milwaukee Brewers certainly will not pick up, here is a look at five possible places he may end up.

Yes, the Kansas City Royals have Omar Infante at second base, but they have often been rumored to have interest in Weeks. By coming to Kansas City and reuniting with former manager Ned Yost, the 32 year-old Weeks could easily turn things around.

Like the Royals, Weeks has often been involved in rumors with the Toronto Blue Jays. By being placed in a lineup with sluggers like Joey Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion, Weeks's power potential could be a hidden gem.

If the Brewers were to bring back Rickie Weeks on a cheaper deal, many Brewers' fans would moan and groan. However, a move like this could be something they need to do. Weeks had the team's highest OBP in the second half and is a right handed option to face left handed pitchers as the team remains uncomfortable letting Scooter Gennett bat against them.

At the trading deadline in 2014, the Yankees were rumored to have interest in Rickie Weeks. By losing Cano they lost power and Weeks could bring that back to the position. Playing everyday at Yankee Stadium could help Weeks's power numbers to soar.

If the Washington Nationals have one need entering 2014, it is at second base. This past season they added Asdrubal Cabrera at the deadline, but if they are unable to keep him, Weeks could be a solid backup plan. Others like Danny Espinosa have underachieved at the plate in Washington. The chance to play everyday could motivate Weeks into a monster season.
