The Mets have lots of needs. However, one could argue that shortstop is first on their list. With just Wilmer Flores, Ruben Tejada and Wilfredo Tovar on the roster, the position leaves a lot to be desired for New York. Hanley Ramirez could provide a solid upgrade that the Mets desperately need.

The Tigers are also in need of a shortstop. Andrew Romine, Jose Iglesias and Eugenio Suarez are simply not the answer at the position long-term for them. Pursuing a guy like Ramirez might be a solid option to help improve the team, offensively in particular.

As of right now, all the Diamondbacks have at SS are Didi Gregorious, Chris Owings and Cliff Pennington. While these players are serviceable platoon guys, none of them are the player that Ramirez is. The Diamondbacks may want to add some offensive firepower to complement a starting rotation that will feature Patrick Corbin, Bronson Arroyo and Wade Miley among others. Adding Hanley might be a good start in accomplishing that goal.

While the Twins' shortstop platoon of Jorge Polanco, Danny Santana and Eduardo Escobar played pretty well at times this past season, none of them are considered full-time options for them in the future. A guy like Ramirez might be a solid option for them and would be a nice power upgrade in their lineup.

Perhaps the best fit for Hanley, the Yankees are in desperate need of a shortstop. They are faced with the tough task of replacing a legend, the captain Derek Jeter. Hanley isn't what Jeter was in his prime, nor will he ever be, but the Yankees have the cash to bring Hanley in. In the hitter's haven that is Yankee Stadium, Ramirez could be a solid fit for a team that is trying to find its bearings without Jeter.
