The Chicago Cubs have plenty of talented young infielders and it may have come time for one of them to go. Since he's signed to an extremely team-friendly deal, Starlin Castro is the most valuable one of them in a trade. That being said, the Cubs could look to move him to a number of locations this offseason as they explore their many interesting options.

Who Cubs Would Target: SP Noah Syndergaard

The Mets really want a shortstop of the future and they haven't made that a secret. It's a long shot they'd part with Syndergaard, who's supposed to be a top flight starter, but if they're willing, the Cubs may try to get some very young talented pitching along with some other prospects.

Who Cubs Would Target: SP Marcus Stroman

The Cubs previously had interest in Stroman when he hadn't even pitched in a major league game. After a very successful year for Toronto in the pros last year, the Cubs figure to be interested in him again. Toronto could use a young shortstop to build around and the deal could make sense for both sides.

Who Cubs Would Target: SP Taijuan Walker

The Mariners appear to be going all in for 2015 and want a right-handed hitter that's proven at the big league level. They've been looking at outfielders, but Castro would fit really well also. They'd have to part with Taijuan Walker, their top prospect, but it could be worth it to have an all star shortstop for the next five to six years.

Who Cubs Would Target: SP Jordan Zimmermann

There were rumors that the Cubs could be trying to trade for Zimmermann and true or not, sending Castro to Washington would have to get the Nationals interested. A straight up trade for these two wouldn't make much sense, so if the two teams begin talking, a blockbuster deal could be worked out.

Who Cubs Would Target: SP Cole Hamels

With the Cubs and Phillies already in talks for a potential Hamels trade, this would make sense. Obviously, Philly wants a replacement for aging veteran Jimmy Rollins and Castro would be perfect. Since they would also be relieving the Phillies of Hamels' hefty contract, expect the Cubs to demand more than just Hamels if they parted with Castro.
