Before the 2014 season began, many looked at the Milwaukee Brewers' minor league system as laughable. Ranked dead last, many of the Brewers' pitchers opened eyes, showing that the future is not so bleak as things may look in Milwaukee. With plenty of deserving top-flight arms, here is a look at the top five pitching prospects heading into 2015.

Last season, 2011 second round pick Jorge Lopez came into his own. He not only represented the Brewers in the futures game, but he had a solid season for the High-A Brevard County Manatees. At just 21 years old, the 6-foot-4 right-hander has plenty of time to continue to develop. He has all the makings of a mid-rotation starter.

Many called the Brewers' 2014 draft a slam-dunk, and first round pick Kodi Medeiros is a big reason why. Even with a 7.13 ERA in his first professional season, the 18 year old showed plenty of potential, including a five-inning, seven strikeout shutout performance on Aug. 11. He is still years away from making the major league rotation, but his deceptive delivery could cause fits for opposing batters for years.

Laugh if you want to, but Wei-Chung Wang will not be a joke next time he steps on the hill at Miller Park. Although he was light up in Milwaukee, he pitched much better in the minors on rehab. Through his seven minor league appearances he went 1-2 with a 2.33 ERA. He continued his stellar performance in the Arizona Fall League, where he was one of the better pitchers in the league.

When drafted in 2011, Taylor Jungmann was expected to quickly rise to the major leagues. While it is taking much longer than expected, Jungmann finally looked like a prospect during 2014. In 28 combined starts in AA and AAA, he went 12-10 with a 3.57 ERA. He many never be an ace, but if he can continue to improve his command he may still be a mid-rotation starter. With two starters expected to be gone after 2015, this will be a huge year for him.

While pitching in Helena, Devin Williams struggled to a 4.48 ERA. But even with his struggles, his power fastball makes him someone to keep on the radar for the future. When drafted, he drew comparisons to Seattle's Taijuan Walker, and if he can develop anywhere near where Walker did, the Brewers have a star on their hands.
