Predicting the Milwaukee Brewers' 2015 Starting Lineup After Winter Meetings

As expected, the Milwaukee Brewers didn't make a splash at the Winter Meetings, but by making moves before they happened, much of their lineup is ready for Opening Day. While it's still early and upgrades may still happen, here is an early look how their lineup should look as April approaches.

1. Scooter Gennett

Last season in 23 games, Scooter Gennett batted .323 in the leadoff spot and was able to temporarily jumpstart the offense. After a late season collapse in 2014, the offense needs a new look. With a new hitting coach, it's time to remove Carlos Gomez from the leadoff spot and make the switch back to Gennett.

2. Jonathan Lucroy

While he doesn't have the same power potential as some may have, Jonathan Lucroy is the team's best bat and the best hitting catcher in all of baseball. As a doubles machine, his patient approach the perfect fit in the two-hole.

3. Ryan Braun

Ryan Braun wasn't Ryan Braun last season. With a nagging thumb injury he batted .266 and showcased little pop down the stretch. During the offseason, he has declared himself healthy after surgery. If he is, he is expected to return to All-Star form.

4. Carlos Gomez

Carlos Gomez loved hitting in the "sexy," cleanup spot last season, and he needs to be put back there. In 37 games there last season, he batted a season's best 289 with three homers and 20 RBIs. At this point, his all-or-nothing swing doesn't look to be changing, so it's time to put him in a spot that fits his approach.

Aramis Ramirez has stated that he doesn't care where he hits, as long as he is in the lineup. While he is still a run producer, his power has diminished slightly. Over the last two seasons, he has averaged just under 14 home runs per season. It's time for a move from the cleanup spot.

Khris Davis in the six spot give the Brewers a dynamic weapon. Of all of their hitters in the lineup, he may have the most power. Last season, he batted just .244 but homered 22 times. With pressure off in 2015, expect both numbers to see a significant increase.

7. Adam Lind

Last season, Mark Reynolds and Lyle Overbay held down the first base spot. Currently, Adam Lind looks to have the position to himself in 2015. Although he struggles against left handed pitching, he hit .354 against right handed pitching last season. He should give them a much better option at the position than they ever had last year.

8. Jean Segura

Last year was a nightmare for Jean Segura, both on and off the field. On the field he finished the season batting nearly 50 points lower than he did during his All-Star 2013. However, his strong finish over the final month gives hope for next season. With great tools, expect him to get back to his previous form in 2015.

While Yovani Gallardo will most likely get the ball on Opening Day, Wily Peralta has become the team's real ace. He finished 2014 with a 17-11 record with a 3.53 ERA. While he batted just 0.53 last season, he showed impressive power last spring by homering off of Madison Bumgarner.
