The Los Angeles Dodgers have designated reliever Brian Wilson, who is owed .5 million next season, for assignment. This means he will be placed on waivers and any team can attempt to claim him and his contract. Chances are slim that any team will pick him up, but if the Dodgers flat out cut Wilson, as they're expected to do, here are the five most likely teams to pick him up.

The Houston Astros have already gone all out on their bullpen so far this offseason, so why not make one more gutsy move? This could be a low-risk, high-reward signing, as Wilson is unlikely to command a huge salary or multi-year deal based on his horrible 2014 campaign.

The Miami Marlins have already been one of the most active teams this offseason, and adding Wilson could potentially push them over the top. There's a chance Wilson will never regain his once-dominant form, but if he does, the Marlins would have a total steal for the 2015 season.

3. Pittsburgh Pirates

Once upon a time, the Pittsburgh Pirates had one of the best bullpens in baseball. While they don't have a bad bullpen now, they could use another arm or two. Adding Wilson wouldn't cost them too much based on his potential to solidify their bullpen as a whole.

2. Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers have a lot of money tied up in their bullpen, but they may have to spend a little more to give them necessary depth. He also wouldn't cost as much as their other relievers, so he could start as a seventh inning guy and try to potentially work his way into the setup or closer role at some point.

Since they will likely be losing closer Casey Janssen to free agency, the Toronto Blue Jays are in need of some bullpen help. They don't need Wilson to be the closer, but he can provide them with some bullpen depth. Toronto has rebuilt their team this offseason and has a real chance to compete, especially with a legitimate bullpen.
