C.C. Sabathia got extremely aggravated at airport officials when he wouldn’t be able to make his flight to Jamaica on time. He got to the point where airport security had to be called and he was restrained to calm down. He eventually got on another flight and peace was restored to the Earth.
The unfortunate part is, this looks bad for Sabathia, a player who has spent his career being a model player off the field to go along with an elite pitcher on it. He has his own charity that he started, the PitCChin Foundation, that supports inner city children and encourages them to play baseball. He has never had an incident anything like this. It also doesn’t look great for the New York Yankees, who haven’t had a great year from a baseball side of things. And with Alex Rodriguez coming back and making himself a one-man distraction, they could really do without any other problems for their team.
Again, this isn’t a big deal in the long run. He didn’t get arrested and nothing ended up happening to him from a legal perspective. It’s just a shame that a player like Sabathia gets put in a bad light for something as stupid and insignificant as being mad about a missed flight to his vacation.
