The New York Mets have high hopes and a lot of confidence, at least internally, heading into Spring Training for the 2015 season. Despite the positive thinking, however, there are plenty of questions that the Mets will face this season. Here are the five biggest heading into Spring Training.

5. Health of Matt Harvey

There is great deal of excitement about the return of Harvey from Tommy John surgery, but no one can know anything about his health until he pitches in a game. There's no doubt that Harvey went about everything the right way with his rehab, but even if he's healthy, the Mets won't know if he'll be the same pitcher until he proves it. That question will linger heading into Spring Training.

For a player with Granderson's track record, there's a lot of uncertainty about what the Mets are going to get out of him after such an up-and-down season in 2014. The Mets have a lot of money tied up in Granderson, and they're going to need him to produce if they're going to be competitive this season.

The Mets have not traded away a starting pitcher this offseason, leaving them with six starters in competition for five spots, not to mention youngsters like Rafael Montero, Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz pushing for a spot. How the competition impacts the starters during Spring Training will be interesting to watch.

2. Lefties in the Bullpen

It would behoove the Mets to put two lefties in the bullpen, but they barely have one in Josh Edgin as it stands, and he's never spent a full season in the big leagues. There are plenty of competitors for the second lefty spot, assuming they can rely on Edgin, but the candidates are underwhelming to say the least.

Can Flores be an everyday shortstop? That's the million-dollar question facing the Mets heading into the 2015 season. The Mets didn't bring in a shortstop during the offseason and don't have much of a backup plan, and so the job is his to lose.
