The Colorado Rockies will be happy to get on with the 2015 season. They finished 28 games out of first place in the NL West and had 12 players make their Major League Baseball debut last season. Surely Walt Weiss and the team would like to forget about 2014, but they will have a lot of questions to answer. It all starts at Salt River Fields next week.

The Rockies were hit with their fair share of injuries last season. Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez were among those battling to stay on the field and have started a pattern. Their health is always a question heading into the season. Both had season-ending surgery. In six seasons together Tulowitzki and Gonzalez have only played over 130 games together once.

Catcher Nick Hundley was signed in the offseason and Michael McKenry is still on the team. Both are better than Rosario defensively. Rosario threw out only 16% of the runners that tried to steal against him last year. However, Rosario has good offensive numbers. He has worked out at first base, left field and right field in the offseason. All of those positions are crowded at the moment, so how will the Rockies get Rosario's bat in the lineup?

Eddie Butler and Jon Gray both have a chance to make the team this season. The two 23-year olds are linked, but Butler is farther along. He made his major league debut last season finishing the year with a 1-1 record. Gray received his invite to Spring Training last week. There is a chance both could impact the Rockies or both could not see an inning with the big club this year.

The Rockies invited John Axford and Rafael Betancourt to Spring Training to increase competition in the bullpen. They look to have LaTroy Hawkins back at closer with Rex Brothers and Boone Logan seeing a lot of innings. Adam Ottavino has put in a lot of research to improve on a good 2014. Tommy Kahnle, Brooks Brown, Christian Friedrich and others are largely unproven, but someone will need to step up to secure the bullpen.

If Tulowitzki proves he is healthy then the trade talks will quickly heat up again. It has been hovering over the team for some time and there were talks at the winter meetings to see what the Rockies want in return. The team hopes Tulo can stay healthy and put up big numbers to help keep them in contention. Regardless, it is doubtful that the trade talk stops.
