With spring training about to get underway across MLB, the New York Mets are bound to have one of the more interesting camps. They didn’t do a lot during the offseason, but there will be plenty to talk about between now and the start of the regular season. Here are five Mets storylines to watch throughout spring training.

David Wright and Curtis Granderson did not have good seasons last year, and if the Mets expect to be contenders in 2015, they need those two to have bounce-back seasons. With Wright, spring training will be about showing that his shoulder is healthy after that injury was the likely culprit for his disappointing 2014. As for Granderson, he needs to show more consistency this year without such extreme highs and lows.

The Mets have tried, unsuccessfully, to trade a starter this offseason, meaning they're entering spring training with six starters. If the right deal comes along, there's still time for the Mets to trade a starter before the season begins, and it'll most likely be Dillon Gee. However, if a trade isn't made, the Mets may start the year with six starters, potentially pushing Gee to the bullpen and creating an uncertain situation to keep an eye on.

Many of the Mets' players have been outspoken this offseason about their hopes and expectations for the season, believing that the team will be playing in the postseason despite the fact that many outside the organization are skeptical. It'll be interesting to watch if that kind of talk continues throughout the spring. As the team gets closer to the regular season, they'll have to put their money where their mouth is.

Harvey is bound to be one of the most watched players during spring training as he returns from a year away after Tommy John surgery. The Mets are betting on the return of Harvey making a meaningful difference this season, so he will be watched closely to see if he's healthy. The Mets expect him to be the same caliber of pitcher he was in 2013 and the kind of pitcher who can lead them into October.

The microscope will be tight on Flores this spring, as there are huge amounts of skepticism about his ability to be an everyday shortstop, in addition to the questions about the Mets not acquiring a different shortstop during the offseason. If Flores struggles during spring training, questions will be raised about how the Mets will handle things and whether they will look to find another shortstop elsewhere.
