The Arizona Diamondbacks head into the 2015 MLB season with a new GM, new Manager and undergoing essentially a complete rebuild of their roster. In a division with the World Series champion San Francisco Giants, the improved San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers, it would take a miracle for Arizona to have a respectable season dealing with this recipe for disaster.

There isn’t much for Diamondbacks fans and players alike to be excited about for 2015. But the franchise must still find a way to get as many fans out to Chase Field as possible. One way to get a rise out of a frustrated fanbase is to showcase some of your young talent. This is why it would be overwhelmingly foolish for Arizona to not break camp with its young pitching mega-prospect, Archie Bradley.

Bradley’s pitched well enough to make this team, but although many of them are far from pitching juggernauts, the Diamondbacks have five starters other than Bradley they could start the season with in order to give him some more seasoning on the farm. But reports indicate that Arizona could be prepared to make a move with the Atlanta Braves that would send current Diamondbacks fifth starter, Trevor Cahill, to Atlanta.

This must be the Diamondbacks’ end game; it just makes too much sense. Cahill has talent, but he’s been injury plagued throughout the past few years, and accumulated a disastrous 5.61 ERA in 2014. Bradley simply needs to experience the rigors of an entire MLB campaign now if Arizona expects him to be a dominating force in coming years once the roster is entirely rebuilt.
