5 Chicago Cubs Who Must Be Dealt Before the 2015 Trade Deadline

With the Cubs hoping they will finally make it back to the postseason in 2015, they could be very busy at the trade deadline. Here are five players they should trade in order to land some big names that may be available.

Albert Almora was once thought of as the future in center field for the Cubs, but based on the fact he can't stay healthy, the club might be ready to move on from him. They're not going to just give him away, but if a team wants him thrown in to finalize a big deal, the Cubs shouldn't hesitate.

4. C Welington Castillo

The Cubs have three catchers on the roster right now and even though they have stuck with that through the first six weeks of the season, they may decide to get some value for Castillo at the deadline. Whether he's thrown into a deal where the Cubs get a difference maker or he just lands them a prospect or two, he might be better off somewhere else.

3. 1B Dan Vogelbach

Vogelbach is a very impressive power hitter that is approaching being major league ready, but the chances of him ever playing for the Cubs are slim. He can only play first base, which is occupied by Anthony Rizzo, so look for him to be included in a trade to an American League team, where he also has the option to DH.

McKinney might be the Cubs' most underrated prospect. At 20 years old, he just earned a promotion to Double-A ball after tearing the cover off the ball in High-A. He's a power hitting lefty outfielder, so plenty of teams will be interested in him if the Cubs are trying to deal for a top-of-the-rotation pitcher.

1. SS Javier Baez

Baez was once the Cubs' top prospect, but after majorly struggling at the major league level last season, he currently finds himself at Triple-A. While he might turn it around, he may need a change of scenery to do so. In order to do Baez and themselves a favor, the Cubs should include him as the centerpiece of any big deal that may go down this July.

Cubs and Braves Should Make This Blockbuster Trade

The Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves can both accomplish what they are currently trying to accomplish with this trade. The Cubs continue to build towards winning a World Series, while the Braves continue to build towards a strong future by stock piling prospects. Win-Win.
