It’ll be years until the New York Mets’ 2015 draft class can be accurately judged, but that doesn’t mean there can't be initial impressions about the players the Mets selected. With over 30 players to choose from, here are five of the most intriguing players the Mets drafted in the 2015 MLB Draft.

5. Sixto Torres, 17th Round

Torres is a strong and athletic lefty whose fastball sits in the low 90's and can reach 93 or 94, which is complemented by a great looking slider. His body makes him look like a young C.C. Sabathia, as he's tall and looks muscular and far more developed physically than most pitchers coming out of high school. He's young, but there is a lot to like and be excited about (the least of which is his name) if the Mets can get Torres signed.

4. Max Wotell, 3rd Round

Wotell is another lefty with good velocity who possesses a good deal of pitchability. His 6-foot-3 frame gives him a chance to fill out and ultimately have a low-to-mid 90s fastball, and he also comes with a nice looking curveball that should at least be an average pitch. However, there are some questions about his mechanics and delivery which will somewhat balance out the excitement about his talent.

3. Nic Enright, 19th Round

Enright may have some signability issues, but if the Mets can make a suitable offer, he'll be one of the most intriguing players in this class. He throws strikes, which is something the Mets love, and he has solid mechanics and an ideal frame for a pitcher. Enright has a high upside and may be worth the Mets paying early-round money in order to get him out of his commitment to Virginia Tech. They could use more high-upside pitchers.

2. Thomas Szapucki, 5th Round

Szapucki is yet another lefty the Mets drafted, and he may be the most intriguing of the bunch. He already has plus velocity and a slider that should be at least an average pitch. There is some concern about the effort in his delivery, as well as the absence of a third pitch, but a lefty with his velocity and a good secondary pitch is a great starting point. Szapucki clearly has the talent to reach the major leagues.

Obviously, the first player the Mets drafted is going to be someone to watch closely. The Mets have described Lindsay as an offensive machine whose best tools are his raw power and his speed on the base paths. Most talent evaluators didn't have him being selected quite so early, but the Mets seem to love him. And the fact that the team took a chance on him adds to the intrigue of a player who is high on talent and potential.
