The 2015 Boston Red Sox have been an extremely disappointing team to watch. They have been underwhelming and underachieving and probably deserve to be in last place. To pick an All-Star however isn't as tough as one would think. There are four players who deserve to go and one who might go because of popularity. But really, isn't that what this game is about?

David Ortiz has gotten off to a very slow start, batting about .229 with nine home runs. He also has been terrible against lefties. However, he has been hitting the ball a lot better recently. He also might be the most recognizable player in the MLB. It really wouldn't be an All-Star game without him.

4. Brock Holt

Brock Holt quite simply has outplayed many of the bigger-name veterans on this team. He can get on base, plays seven different positions while making it look easy and is batting .314. He also recently hit for the cycle. Holt has been a breath of fresh air in a very dark season.

3. Junichi Tazawa

Junichi Tazawa has always been one of the best setup men out there. This year however, he has stepped up his game to the next level. Until he got knocked around by the Toronto Blue Jays, he had an earned run average below 2.00 and has walked only six batters all season. He has been lights out in the eighth inning and a lot of it has to do with him now having a solid curve. Unfortunately, setup men are never selected.

2. Dustin Pedroia

Dustin Pedroia has been healthy for the first time in a number of seasons. It shows because he has been batting .307 with nine home runs. His power had been sorely lacking over the last two seasons. He has been amazing as usual in the field and has stepped into the leadoff position and done extremely well. It is too bad the rest of the team can't usually get him in.

The top player of the Boston Red Sox who deserves to be an All-Star is definitely Xander Bogaerts. He has really developed into a fantastic player to watch. He is batting over .280 but the biggest improvement in his game has been his defense. He went from very shaky last year in the field to a very talented fielder. He also has become a spokesman on this team. He is a lot of fun to watch.
