We've made it to the month of July, and with the MLB Trade Deadline less than a month away, the rumor mill should really start to pick up. Of course, rumors involving the New York Mets rarely come to an end, so even before things start to pick up, there is plenty going on in Mets-land. Here are the five biggest rumors surrounding the Mets as we enter the month of July.

This is the rumor that won't die, mainly because there's a contingent of Mets fans that won't stop clamoring for Tulowitzki to be traded to New York. With the Rockies in last place, there's a chance they look to trade Tulowitzki, and with the Mets' stockpile of young pitchers, they are still the best match with Colorado in a potential trade. Of course, that doesn't mean anything is going to happen; in fact, it probably won't.

The Mets have finally reconfigured their infield, moving Wilmer Flores to second base and having Ruben Tejada play shortstop. After getting hot when he first started playing every day, Tejada has gone ice cold as of late, and if it continues there are whispers that Reynolds may get a call up to play shortstop. Reynolds has been frustrated at not getting promoted to the majors yet, but he may soon get his chance.

All of a sudden, rumors have surfaced about teams having interest in trading for Niese, most notably the Cubs and Dodgers. Niese has pitched better of late, and the Mets need to watch the innings of their younger pitchers, so they're in no rush to trade Niese and drop back to a five-man rotation. Of course, things can change quickly and if Niese can help the Mets add a bat, he could be moved, and it's good to know there is interest him.

The Mets' GM has talked a lot about the lack of a trade market at this point in the season as the reason why the Mets haven't made a trade. However, Alderson has also mentioned that he'd be willing to overpay to improve the Mets offense. This came as a bit of a surprise, and could indicate that Alderson will be working hard throughout the month of July to make something happen, but that doesn't guarantee the Mets make a trade.

There are reports indicating that the Mets' captain is close to resuming baseball activities after missing more than two months of action. Nothing is certain when it comes to Wright's health, and even if he's cleared, it could be another month before he's ready to rejoin the Mets. But if the Mets can somehow get their captain back for the final two months of the season, it would be a huge boost for the team heading down the stretch.
