5. Minnesota Twins

Carlos Gomez played two seasons for the Minnesota Twins back in 2008-09, but he wasn't half the player back then as he is now. Minnesota's outfield cannot hit a lick this year, which is undoubtedly bogging the Twins down. Mega-prospect Byron Buxton was supposed to help fix the problem, but he's out for at least another three weeks. Thus, considering Gomez's affordable salary, a reunion makes perfect sense for both parties.

4. Houston Astros

The Houston Astros were dealt a devastating blow last week when George Springer was struck in the wrist with a pitch. Springer is expected to miss six weeks minimum, which is just long enough of an absence to really affect their playoff chances. Gomez fits in perfectly with Houston considering the circumstance.

3. New York Mets

The New York Mets signed Gomez as a 16-year-old way back in 2002. Gomez made his MLB debut with the Mets in 2007, but he was ultimately included in the deal that sent Johan Santana from Minnesota to New York back in the winter of 2008. The Mets' offense has been an abomination all season, yet they're still within striking distance in the NL East. Gomez would make a huge difference in New York.

2. San Francisco Giants

Angel Pagan hasn't done the job at the plate this season, and the San Francisco Giants' offense as a whole has been mediocre at best, if we're being honest. The Giants are currently at .500 (43-43) and need to catch lightning in a bottle if they want to make the playoffs again in 2015. Gomez would instantly become the team's biggest offensive threat in the outfield.

1. St. Louis Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals have the best record in MLB, but don't have a ton of offense emanating from their outfield currently. Getting Matt Holliday back from the DL will be huge, but acquiring Gomez would ensure they'd be able to endure another injury to their offense throughout the stretch run.
