The Padres are looking like they will be sellers at the deadline as they are currently sitting in fourth place in the NL West. After a very exciting offseason the Padres haven't lived up to the hype this year. They will likely be looking to get some good prospects for their expiring contracts to help get ready for next year. Here are the five possible trades they could make at the 2015 trade deadline.

Getting Segura makes sense for the Padres even though they are likely to be sellers at the Deadline. Shortstop is a desperate need for the Padres as their shortstops this year are hitting under 200. Segura is only 25 and is under team control through 2018, which is the kind of contract that Preller seems to like. Segura could be a great shortstop for years to come and the Padres would be smart to get him while the Brewers are in seller mode.

4. Send Joaquin Benoit to the Washington Nationals

Benoit is in the final year of his two-year deal and the Padres could get a good prospect or two in return for him. The Nationals have been rumored to want late inning help for their bullpen and Benoit has been that for several years. He has been the Padres set up man and closer the last two years, which is exactly what the Nationals need. This would be the definition of a win-win for these teams and they should make this happen.

3. Send Andrew Cashner to the Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles desperately need pitching help and Cashner is a very good one, when healthy. The Padres would be wise to try and offload Cashner before his injury issues pop up again. This would be a high risk trade for the O's, but could also be very high reward if Cashner can stay healthy. Cashner would likely land the Padres some pretty good prospects from the Orioles who could help them get ready for next season.

2. Ian Kennedy San Diego Padres Trade Rumors

2. Trade Ian Kennedy to the Houston Astros

The Astros could use a veteran starter and they have plenty of depth in their farm system. They could give up one of their many prospects for Kennedy, who could possibly be helped by a change of scenery. This would add a talented veteran to plug in as their third or fourth starter. It would also help the Padres' now depleted farm system. This would be another win-win situation for these two teams.

Upton trade rumors have been around since May, when the Padres really started slipping down the NL West standings. The Royals are now seeking outfield help after the injury to Alex Gordon and Upton would help fill the offensive void and potentially the defensive void as well. Even if Gordon comes back this season they can move Alex Rios to the bench. This would be a huge move for the Royals and would likely land the Padres some good prospects.
