There will be trades completed by the Atlanta Braves before the trade deadline; of that there can be little doubt. What direction those trades will go is anyone's guess at this point, but there are certain players and teams who could be seen as decent trade partners. Without the addition of understood lower minor league players who would be added on each side, here are hypothetical trades the Braves could complete this season.

In this deal the Philadelphia Phillies would gain a rejuvenated outfielder in Maybin while the Braves would gain both immediate bullpen help and a top pitching prospect. The Phillies would be stiff on a top two or three pitching prospect, but the Braves could add more depth to their minor league pitching stable.

Jim Johnson recently had some good play with the Orioles, and they could use some pitching help. At the same time, they are expected to keep Matt Wieters which might make their top catching prospect Steve Clevenger available in Triple-A. The Braves continue to need to rebuild behind the plate since the Christian Bethancourt dive, so this would go a long way towards that goal.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are interested in the future seasons which would lead them to being willing to take on top minor league prospects the Braves can afford to trade. The Braves, meanwhile, would be taking on a former closer in Reed the likes of which they have proven to be able to rejuvenate, as well as an experienced catcher they are familiar with who can hit a little bit.

The Braves badly need help in the current bullpen, and they can probably do without Kelly Johnson while the Marlins could certainly find something to do with a successful and versatile veteran. Dyson would be a good power pitcher who the Braves could use this season and in the future.

It's no secret now that the Braves are seeking good young catching to rebuild behind the plate, and none exist more promising now and in the future than Lucroy. He might have had a rough go of it this season, but he is as good as they come and not too expensive. Teheran will be the big piece that would make the Brewers willing to send their great young catcher away, and they would have the right to try and rejuvenate Bethancourt.
