The Cincinnati Reds' phone has probably been ringing off the hooks as they prepare to be sellers at the 2015 MLB trade deadline,. Here are five potential trades the Reds could swing at the deadline.

5. Marlon Byrd traded to Pirates for prospects

Byrd has been on fire as of late and has upped the asking price for him. The Pirates could use another bat to push them during the second half. Given his age, the Reds would get a couple of mid-level prospects. These prospects would probably be pitchers given the probable exits of numerous pitchers on the Reds' end.

4. Reds acquire D.J. LeMathieu from Rockies for prospects

D.J. LeMahieu is the hitter the Reds have yearned for. He can hit and get on base, and he defends well. He currently is batting .311 on the season with a .365 on-base percentage. Given the season he has had, the Reds will probably have to give the Rockies a couple of mid-level prospects such as Taylor Sparks (No. 15) and Sal Romano (No. 11) in return, but his production in the lineup would be a welcome addition.

3. Jay Bruce traded to Mets for Michael Conforto and Wuilmer Becerra

The Mets have been tied to Jay Bruce and have two outfield prospects who could help fill the Reds' needs for corner outfielders. Both Conforto and Becerra are a little ways away from the majors, but the salary relief would help the Reds go after a more-immediate outfield replacement.

2. Johnny Cueto traded to Yankees for Jorge Mateo and Gary Sanchez or Aaron Judge

Cueto will bring in a good return, but a return of Jorge Mateo and Gary Sanchez or Aaron Judge would help the Reds the most. Mateo would fill the need at shortstop and could provide the Reds with another base-path threat to pair up with Billy Hamilton down the road. Gary Sanchez could help bolster the depth at catcher. If Aaron Judge was able to be acquired, he could replace Jay Bruce if Bruce indeed ends up being dealt.

The Los Angeles Dodgers would not only provide the Reds with great prospects who fill current needs in infielder Darnell Sweeney (No. 7) and outfielder Alex Verdugo (No. 5). Both players are top 10 prospects in the Dodgers' organization, which may be a steep price to some, but the Dodgers have the money to retain Chapman once his contract runs out. Another positive in the Dodgers favor is a big Cuban population in their city.
