All has been quiet on the trade front this summer, but with two weeks left before the MLB trade deadline, the market is finally starting to take shape. Whether the New York Mets end up making a move or not, there should be no shortage of rumors, speculation and talk from the fanbase over the next two weeks. Here are the five biggest Mets rumors leading up to the trade deadline.

Wright has not yet been cleared to return to baseball activities, but both player and team are optimistic that he'll soon be able to start working his way back to the big leagues. It may take as little as three weeks from the time Wright is cleared to the time he's back at Citi Field. Unfortunately, that doesn't get him back before the trade deadline, which the Mets have to approach still uncertain about when and if their captain will be back.

There is a growing indication that the Mets are not looking for outfielders on the trade market, but will instead focus on the infield and bench. This would be a huge mistake, unless the team plans on promoting Michael Conforto, which they also seem hesitant to do. Michael Cuddyer and Curtis Granderson should really be platooning at this point, and Juan Lagares could use a little break in center field as well.

Zobrist appears to be one of the Mets' primary targets heading towards the trade deadline, but they are not the only team. Rumors indicate at least three or four other teams have strong interest in Zobrist, and Oakland isn't even sure if they're going to trade him away yet. GM Sandy Alderson has indicated he would be willing to overpay for a player like Zobrist, and he may need to do so if he has to outbid several other teams to get him.

There are still strong rumors that the Mets and Brewers are having trade talks. Milwaukee has quite a few players they could trade, but the focus appears to be on Aramis Ramirez and Jean Segura. Ramirez only makes sense if Wright is ruled out for the season, but Segura remains an interesting possibility if the Mets feel compelled to upgrade at shortstop now that Wilmer Flores has made the move to second base.

There are reports that San Diego has sent scouts to take a look at the Mets' farm system, indicating that a trade could happen between the two teams. Of course, this creates excitement that the Mets may be able to land Justin Upton, who would be a game changer in their lineup. Will Venable is another option who would be a solid addition for the Mets, but Upton is the big prize if the Mets and Padres are in trade talks near the deadline.
