With a record of 46-47 at the moment, it would suffice to say that the Detroit Tigers have disappointed in 2015. Although some fans are ready to throw in the towel and give up on this club, here are five reasons to continue watching.

5. Justin Verlander

With the exception of a game he threw against the Minnesota Twins earlier this month, Justin Verlander has disappointed mightily upon coming off of the DL, going 0-3 with a 6.62 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP. However, it is still worth keeping tabs on how the one-time ace performs the remainder of the season in order to get a feel for what he may still be able to realistically give the Tigers going forward.

4. James McCann

After making the 25-man roster out of Spring Training, James McCann has been very impressive. The 25-year-old backstop is currently hitting .282/.321/.431 with four homers and 23 RBIs, and he has thrown out a whopping 44 percent of would-be basestealers. It is worth tuning into the game simply to catch a glimpse of the Tigers' catcher of the future.

3. Jose Iglesias

After missing all of the 2014 season, Jose Iglesias has returned with a bang, making a huge impact on both sides of the ball. The 25-year-old shortstop is hitting .321/.371/.396 with two homers and 18 RBIs, and his defense has been phenomenal. Every time he takes the field, he has a chance to make a highlight-reel play -- and you don't want to miss it.

2. J.D. Martinez

After coming out of nowhere to hit .315 with 23 homers and a .912 OPS for the Tigers a season ago, J.D. Martinez has now proven that he is anything but a one-year wonder. The talented right fielder is currently hitting .287 with 27 home runs and a .911 OPS. Although it may be a bit of a stretch, he may have an outside chance to become only the third Tiger to ever hit 50 home runs in a single season, joining Hank Greenberg and Cecil Fielder.

Although the Tigers are now 10.5 games back in the AL Central, they are still only four games out of a Wild Card spot. Although it would still take some magic, they are not out of it quite yet and anything is possible.
