The Los Angeles Dodgers appear fed up with outfielder Yasiel Puig‘s antics, so they’re open to trading him to acquire pitching this season. Here are five teams who could deal for the controversial outfielder.
5. Washington Nationals
Brad Mills, USA Today SportsThe two teams would really have to work out something creative for this to work since they both have pennant aspirations, but each has something the other one wants, so it could work. Washington wants more outfield depth and has a surplus of pitching. If the Dodgers like a couple of their prospects and maybe a major league pitcher like Tanner Roark, it could happen.
4. Cincinnati Reds
Getty ImagesAny team that has a top-of-the-rotation pitcher available this deadline should be calling the Dodgers about Puig and the Reds are no exception. Cincinnati could begin the rebuild early by landing the talented Cuban outfielder. Grouping him with Todd Frazier and Joey Votto in the lineup would give the offense instant credibility for years to come.
3. New York Mets
Getty ImagesThe story of the Mets' season has been that they have a surplus of pitching, but no hitting. They're looking for outfielders, so why not swap one of their young pitchers for Puig? It would provide a boost to their offense now and in the future while making some rotation decisions easier. If he did end up in New York, the media would be relentless.
2. Detroit Tigers
Getty ImagesYet another team with an ace to trade this deadline, maybe the Tigers believe Puig could fortify their lineup for years to come. A straight-up deal might work in this case since Price is a rental player and the Dodges appear to want nothing to do with Puig anymore.
1. Philadelphia Phillies

The Dodgers have Cole Hamels at the top of their wish list of trade targets this July and they might be able to get him if they send Puig to Philly. He doesn't exactly fit the rebuild player mold, but he should still be a productive player by the time the Phillies are competitive again.
