6 Managers Who Should Be Fired At the End of 2015 MLB Season

By Jacob Kornhauser

At the end of every baseball season, many coaches are either on the hot seat or go on the hot seat. These six managers all seem to have overstayed their welcome and should be fired by their current teams once the season ends. Keep in mind, this list excludes Dan Jennings and Brad Ausmus because they’re both already reportedly on their way out of Miami and Detroit respectively.

6. John Farrell - Boston Red Sox

This will the toughest call of them all this offseason. Farrell has led the team to a World Series title, but he has also led them to a last place finish and what should be another disappointing finish this season. They very well could keep him on, but with new president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski at the helm, there's a good chance Farrell is let go.

5. Robin Ventura - Chicago White Sox

After yet another disappointing season in Chicago, Robin Ventura can't have much slack left from the front office. They went out and got players like Melky Cabrera and David Robertson among others this offseason, yet they didn't get noticeably better on the field. That's not fully to blame on the manager, but Ventura's inability to get his guys to play at a high level has plagued the team; 2015 might be the last straw.

4. Lloyd McClendon - Seattle Mariners

Seattle was a hot pick to win the American League pennant this season, but they're not even going to finish in the top half of their division. Following a surprisingly solid 2014 season, McClendon's club laid an egg and it might cost him his job. With a new general manager set to come in this offseason, McClendon should not feel safe.

3. Bryan Price - Cincinnati Reds

Price seemed like a strange hire from the beginning. Cincinnati went from Dusty Baker, who had a ton of coaching experience, to Price, who had virtually none. That inexperience has shown the past two years. As the team prepares to potentially rebuild, they need a fresh face at the helm, and preferably one with a better track record.

2. Matt Williams - Washington Nationals

After the Nationals' incredibly disappointing campaign, Matt Williams has to be on his way out of the nation's capital. There's just no excuse for how poorly his supremely talented team has played this season. Of course, the team has had some injuries throughout the year, but they were still in the race after all of those hit. It seems like he's lost this team and he soon could lose his job as a result.

1. Mike Scioscia - Los Angeles Angels

Scioscia has been at the helm in L.A. for over a decade, but his long run should be coming to an end after this year. Despite the fact that the Angels have a lineup boasting Mike Trout and Albert Pujols, it looks as though they could miss out on the playoffs this season. If that's the case, and even if they have an early playoff exit, Scioscia should be shown the door. With Trout leading a new wave of talent on this team, the Angels need a new man to lead them into the future.
