Freddy Freeman Remains A Bright Spot For Struggling Atlanta Braves

Freddie Freeman

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

It would be tough to find anyone who is enjoying what the Atlanta Braves are going through right now. Their offense seems to be showing up and their rookies are showing out in the final month showcase, but the wins are ever elusive. One game after another we are all reminded how terrible the Braves bullpen is as they give games away to the opposing team. Watching Freddie Freeman would lead you to believe things are not that bad, however.

If the team is down and someone hits a homer to get the game close, Freeman is the first one on the top step of the dugout with his arms up in celebration. He always seems to be having fun on the field as well. It’s almost as if he doesn’t know it is supposed to be a job and instead he is just having fun playing the game. In a recent game he raced an opposing player to second base on a double, and he is always laughing and jawing with runners on first base.

Basically, the Braves have the man in Freeman who they should build their team around. He is a consistent player on the field and a refreshing person off of it. It seems the more years he puts in, the more he gets it right. Freeman simply plays the game of baseball the way it is supposed to be played and enjoys doing it. They may be lacking in many other areas, but the Braves are set at first base for years to come.

Cubs and Braves Should Make This Blockbuster Trade

The Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves can both accomplish what they are currently trying to accomplish with this trade. The Cubs continue to build towards winning a World Series, while the Braves continue to build towards a strong future by stock piling prospects. Win-Win.
