With their 94th loss on Sunday, the 2015 season came to a merciful end for the Milwaukee Brewers. A re-tooling looks necessary, but becoming competitive again in a very good National League Central will not be easy.

Multiple coaches were fired on Monday, but here are five players the Brewers need to send packing this offseason.

Herrera is versatile, but at 30 years old he's a highly replaceable player without the upside attached to youth. The fact he started 62 games (32 at third base and 30 at second base) in 2015 tells us a lot about the kind of season the Brewers had.

Garza had a disappointing 2015 (5.63 ERA over 26 appearances-25 starts), and he was shut down for the season in early September after reportedly refusing to pitch out of the bullpen. His contract is an obstacle to any trade, with $12.5 million owed him in each of the next two seasons, but moving a potential clubhouse cancer like Garza is something new Brewers' general manager David Stearns should consider.

3. RP Will Smith

Smith got some notoriety this season after being suspended for use of a foreign substance, but that should not obscure his excellent season out of the Brewers' bullpen (2.70 ERA, 12.9 K/9 over 76 appearances). He reportedly grabbed interest from other teams around July's trade deadline, and if that interest resurfaces this offseason the Brewers need to maximize a top trade asset.

2. RP Francisco Rodriguez

The Brewers don't have an obvious in-house replacement for Rodriguez, who finished 2015 with 38 saves, a 2.21 ERA and top-notch strikeout (9.8 K/9) and walk (1.7 BB/9) rates. But he'll turn 34 in January, with a contract that is a bit inflated ($5.5 million next season and a $6 million team option in 2017), so Rodriguez is someone that could be traded in order to get some young talent back.

Segura just ended another disappointing season, with a .257/.281/.336 slash-line, but he did steal 25 bases in 31 attempts. Orlando Arcia could be ready for the big leagues after a strong season at Double-A (.307, eight home runs, 69 RBI and 25 stolen bases), and Luis Sardinas could be in the mix at shortstop for Milwaukee as well. Segura's youth (25) and team control (three years of arbitration eligibility) may bring calls from other teams.
