Shin-Soo Choo — August 18, Shin-Soo Choo made a miraculous double play. Choo made the fly ball catch against the Seattle Mariners, then from right field threw the ball home. This over 89 mph throw made it home and was able to record the last out of the seventh inning against Logan Morrison.

Banister and Adrian Beltre — The Texas Rangers were able to break two cycle records this year. On July 21, after the All-Star break, Choo took the Rangers franchise cycle number to eight against the Colorado Rockies. Then, on August 3, that number was raised to nine when Adrian Beltre hit for his third career cycle. He was able to accomplish this against the Houston Astros, tying the Major League record held by John Reilly, Babe Herman, and Bob Meusel.

Prince Fielder — Three Rangers players hit home run milestones this year. Josh Hamilton was able to hit the 200 marker on October 3, when he smashed two home runs against the Boston Red Sox. Prior to this, on June 26, Prince Fielder hit his next big number of 300 against the Toronto Blue Jays. This made the second father-son duo to accomplish this feat. Even earlier in the year, on May 15, Adrian Beltre was hit his 400th against the Cleveland Indians.

Joey Gallo — On June 2, Joey Gallo took the field for the first time because Adrian Beltre was out with a thumb injury. Gallo, as the Texas Rangers' top prospect, stunned fans when he hit a homerun and ended the game going 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs. This start was one for the history books.

Mitch Moreland — Not only where many milestones met this year, but to top it off, on August 19, three Rangers players were able to hit back to back to back home runs. The Mariners' reliever, Joe Beimel, gave up these back to back to back smashes after only being down by one run in the seventh to Mitch Moreland, Mike Napoli, and Elvis Andrus.

Colby Lewis — For the Rangers’ September 11 game, Colby Lewis came out hot and was able to pitch a complete game shutout against the Oakland Athletics. The Rangers’ pitcher held the game as perfect until the eighth inning where he gave up a hit to Danny Valencia. This was Lewis’ fifteenth win this season, hitting his personal career high.

Chi Chi Gonzalez — The Rangers were able to accomplish nine shutouts this season. On June 5, rookie Chi Chi Gonzalez was able to shutout the Kansas City Royals after allowing only three hits in his second start in the majors. With this game, Gonzalez was able to put 14 2/3 scoreless innings in the book, the best start of a career within the franchise.

Texas Rangers — The Rangers were not supposed to do well this season, neither were the Houston Astros. As the season wore on, however, it became a fight for first between the two Texas teams. Finally on September 15, the Rangers were able to step up and take first from Houston. They are one of only five teams since 1969 to take the lead so late in the season.

Texas Rangers — On the last day of the regular season, the Rangers finally made that step to clinch the AL West. The team pulled through, despite all odds. On October 4, with the win against the Angels and the last out being against none other than David Freese, the Rangers were able to clinch for the sixth time in franchise history.
