The Houston Astros acquired Carlos Gomez from the Milwaukee Brewers last season, but he was a shell of his Milwaukee version. A significant amount of blame can be placed on the injuries that he dealt with so it's crucial that he stays healthy in 2016. Houston will need his veteran leadership and production similar to his 2013 and 2014 campaigns.

Although he decreased his strikeout rate last year and finally showed some of his speed with 16 SBs, George Springer's power production was down. Most of his regression can be attributed to the fractured wrist he dealt with, and he will look to bounce back in 2016. If he stays healthy, then he can easily be a 20-20 club member.

As the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner entering the 2016 season, the health of Dallas Keuchel is the most critical for Houston's success. He led the AL with 20 wins in 2015 which accounted for 23 percent of the Astros' 86 wins. He is their clear ace, and it could be fatal for their playoff hopes if he gets hurt this season.
