Over the past two seasons, Jesse Chavez, who was a Blue Jay in 2012, posted a 3.83 ERA through 303 innings with the A's. Others such as Drew Hutchison, Aaron Sanchez, Gavin Floyd and Roberto Hernandez also figure to be in the mix for the No. 5 spot.

Although he may no longer be the pitcher he was back in 2012 when he won the NL Cy Young with the Mets, R.A. Dickey is still a solid starter and a proven innings eater. The knuckleballer has been good for 200-plus innings in five straight years.

After having a great regular season and a lights-out postseason for the Blue Jays last year, Marco Estrada returned on a reported two-year, $26 million deal. Toronto will need Estrada to provide a steady arm once again in 2016.

After suffering a torn ACL in spring training, Marcus Stroman returned to go 4-0 with a 1.67 ERA and an 0.96 WHIP over four regular season starts last year. He wasn't quite as impressive in the postseason, but he could be a legit ace this year.
