Teixeira's contract is up after this season, but he made some waves when he declared he would like to play five more years and finish his career in pinstripes. While it's great to hear his love for the franchise, he may not fit on the roster. Greg Bird should soon be ready for the first base job, and A-Rod could still be in the DH role.

4. CC Sabathia Returns From Rehab

Sabathia, who had to put himself into an alcoholic rehab treatment right before the Yankees' playoff game, made his return to the mound this spring. He twirled two scoreless innings while striking out two, and is in competition for the fifth rotation spot. It's a great story to have Sabathia back out there after admitting his problem.

The Yankees have sent some of their big-time prospects out there this spring and they haven't disappointed. Jorge Mateo has shown his electrifying speed and even hit a monster home run, while Aaron Judge hit an impressive opposite field homer.
