These five teams are playing pretty well right now, but they’re not going to reach the postseason. By season’s end, these teams will be out of the playoff picture.
5. Arizona Diamondbacks (11-10)
Getty ImagesWith the loss of A.J. Pollock, the D'Backs lost the chance they had of seriously contending this year. They've managed to stay above .500 for now, but with tons of games against the Giants and Dodgers, that could change by season's end.
4. Philadelphia Phillies (9-10)
Reinhold Matay-USA Today SportsWith Vincent Velasquez looking like a potential ace of the future, the Phillies could be better than expected in 2016. However, they likely won't be around .500 much longer, because there are too many question marks in the lineup.
3. Oakland Athletics (10-10)
Getty ImagesOn paper, the Athletics are the worst team in the AL, but they haven't played like that so far. However, their lineup is below average and won't be able to win them many close games, which will force them toward the bottom of the rotation.
2. Cincinnati Reds (9-11)
Getty ImagesThe Reds started off hot, but they've majorly cooled down lately. In the end, they're likely no more than a 70-win team this year because of the youth in their rotation. The most they can hope for is personal development for their young guys.
1. Colorado Rockies (9-10)
