Curt Schilling Still Doesn't Know When To Quit, Rips ESPN For Racism

After his continued outspokenness, mostly on social media, ESPN made a long overdue decision to fire baseball analyst Curt Schilling last week. Silence would be golden at this point, when talking about his former employer or anything else, but Schilling has chosen to pile on.

In his first lengthy interview since being fired with the Breitbart News Patriot Forum, here’s some of what Schilling had to say about ESPN:

“It was apparent to me early on that if you wanted to go off topic as a sportsperson,” Schilling said, “you had to go off topic left, or you were going to get into trouble.”

“Some of the most racist things that I’ve ever heard come out of people that are on the air at ESPN,” Schilling said.

“There are some of the biggest racists in sports commentating, and you take it for what it is,” the 49-year-old continued. “You know who they are, you know what they are. I like that they are open because then you know who they are. You know that they exist.”

Schilling clearly craves attention, or he would have never felt a need to go “off-topic” from his former job at all or he would at least be choosing his words better. Political leaning aside, Schilling apparently still thinks people value anything he has to say. Outside of a television booth as a game analyst, which of course he doesn’t do anymore, Schilling hasn’t offered much more than finger-pointing at those who don’t agree with him.

Sour grapes toward a former employer is hardly a new concept, but Schilling continues to deflect blame instead of acknowledging he has caused his own problems. As long as he is offered a public forum to comment, we’ll surely see more of this kind of thing from Schilling.
