A looming domestic violence-related suspension for Colorado Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes is expected to finally come, with Ken Rosenthal reporting a decision could come on Friday. Buster Olney of ESPN has added that teams now have interest in trading for Reyes, with credit for the 34 games he has already sat out to come on a likely 60-game suspension.
Here are five teams that could trade for Reyes if he’s made available.
5. Los Angeles Angels

The Angels are already eight games out in the AL West, but with Andrelton Simmons (thumb) possibly out until mid-July the recent acquisition of Brendan Ryan looks like a half-measure. Reyes could also move over to second base once Simmons is back.
4. Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles have shifted Manny Machado to shortstop in place of an injured J.J. Hardy (foot), who may be out another six weeks. Adding Reyes could be just the right lineup reinforcement as Baltimore tries to stay atop the AL East.

Even with a better run recently, the Nationals aren't getting much from Danny Espinosa at shortstop (.210, three home runs, 14 RBIs). Reyes is a trade option, if his age (33 in June) and contract ($22 million this year and next) are not big concerns.

The Yankees are getting very little offensively from the left side of their infield right now. Adding Reyes, and pushing Didi Gregorius into a utility role, could be on the radar.

The Diamondbacks went all in during the offseason, and SS Nick Ahmed is a notable hole from an offensive standpoint (.176/.244/.286 slash-line). Reyes has still been productive when healthy, and the remainder of his contract may not bother Arizona.
