The Kansas City Royals are not quite playing at the same level they have the past two seasons when they reached the World Series, but they remain a relevant part of the American League playoff picture. The MLB All-Star Game won’t be overflowing with Royals as it was last year, but here are five Kansas City players who deserve consideration for the Midsummer Classic based on how they’ve performed in 2016.
5. Paulo Orlando

Orlando has been a part-time player for a good chunk of the season, but when he's played he has produced. Orlando is hitting .357 with an OPS of .844, which could be enough to put him in the discussion for an All-Star spot.
4. Kelvin Herrera

Herrera is not a closer, but that doesn't mean he can't be an All-Star. His ERA is 1.56, and his strikeout rate is as high as it's been since 2013. On almost any other team, Herrera would have 20-plus saves and be a lock to make the All-Star team.

Hosmer is putting together another impressive season, becoming one of the few steady and consistent players in Kansas City's offense. He definitely looks like an All-Star in what is becoming a career year for the Royals first baseman.
2. Wade Davis

Kansas City's bullpen is one of the best in baseball, and Davis is a big reason why. He has just one blown save and a microscopic 1.03 ERA, both of which reinforce the fact that Davis is among the elite closers in baseball.

Between his always reliable defense and the phenomenal display he's put on with his bat this season, Perez is undoubtedly an All-Star in 2016. He's hitting for both average and power and putting together an amazing 2016 season.
