With a record of 38-38, the Detroit Tigers are not exactly where most fans hoped they would be at this point. That being said, there have certainly been a few big positives, and the Tigers have several players who are having great years. Here are the five most surprising players for the Tigers through June.

Nick Castellanos — Although some were disappointed in the numbers he posted over the first two full seasons of his big league career, Nick Castellanos has broken out in a big way in 2016. The 24-year-old is currently hitting .295 with 13 homers and 40 RBIs.

Ian Kinsler — After hitting just 11 home runs last year, most fans thought that Ian Kinsler's power was in decline. This year, however, the 34-year-old is hitting a solid .293 and already has 14 homers.

Victor Martinez — After a tough season last year, many wondered if Victor Martinez had another rebound in him. Well, the answer to that appears to be yes, as the 37-year-old is currently hitting .319 with 14 homers and 40 RBIs.

Cameron Maybin — Since coming off of the DL on May 16, Cameron Maybin has hit a rock-solid .346/.404/.406 with eight stolen bases. He has given the team the speed and energy they were severely lacking.

Michael Fulmer — Since joining the team on April 29, 23-year-old right-hander Michael Fulmer has gone an incredibly impressive 7-2 with a 2.40 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP. It's certainly looks like Fulmer has an incredibly bright future ahead of him in Detroit.
