Tim Tebow Gets Standing Ovation for First Hit With New York Mets in Grapefruit League

By Anthony Blake

It wasn’t anything special, but New York Mets minor leaguer Tim Tebow got his first hit in a Grapefruit League game against the Miami Marlins.

The base-knock came off of lefty Kyle Lobstein in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Mets manager Terry Collins said there were no plans for Tebow to return to action with the Major League squad after going 0-for-7 with three strikeouts in two games.

However, this positive change may yield a different tune from the skipper come the next opportunity.
