Dodgers' Yasiel Puig Gets Ejected For Throwing Temper Tantrum — Waves Goodbye To Umpire

By RanterX

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig continues to be an enigma thus far in 2017 MLB Spring Training. Coming off another down year (.263, 11 HR, 45 RBI in 104 games), the Dodgers desperately need Puig to finally produce at a consistently solid level for an entire campaign.

Puig’s bat has cooled down after getting off to a hot start this spring, and he’s clearly frustrated at the plate of late. Against the Chicago Cubs on Thursday, Puig lost his cool and threw a temper tantrum after he disagreed with the home-plate umpire about a called strike three that could have gone either way.

There’s no denying Puig has all the tools and talent to be a perennial All-Star at the MLB level, but his attitude and work ethic continue to hinder his development.

Puig is just 26 years old and still has a chance to have a number of dominant years in his prime. However, it’s fair to assume the Puig we’ve seen over the last two seasons is what the Dodgers will have to settle for until he proves something to the contrary.
