Brewers' Keon Broxton Nailed In Face By Pitch — Credits Special Helmet For 'Saving My Life'

By Timothy Downs

A scary scene unraveled on Thursday night as Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Keon Broxton was absolutely drilled in the face with a errant pitch by Colorado Rockies hurler Antonio Senzatela.

Thankfully, Broxton wears what is called a “C-flap” helmet, which has protection that runs down beneath a batter’s  frontside ear.

Broxton, who suffered a small nasal fracture but isn’t expected to land on the disabled-list, credited the extra protection for saving his life after the game.

“That thing just saved my life,” Broxton told reporters prior to encouraging all MLB players to at least give it a try.

Hopefully, some will…
