Communication is a vital component of the pitcher-catcher relationship in baseball, and at the MLB level, the necessity of flawless understanding is only further magnified.

Take, for instance, this sequence with Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli frantically pointing to first base as pitcher James Taillon obliviously prepares to deliver his pitch.

Yeah, this is not the textbook example of how a catcher and pitcher should communicate.

The Chicago Cubs were free to roam the basepaths as they saw fit thanks to this snafu.

Bet they make a terrible charades team, too.
