Orioles' Manny Machado Pulverizes Longest Home Run At Yankee Stadium Of Statcast Era

By Timothy Downs

The Baltimore Orioles are likely going to have to pay third baseman Manny Machado over $300 million when he becomes a free agent following the 2018 season.

For now, however, they get to enjoy watching him do grown man things out on MLB diamonds across North America.

On Friday night, Machado, 24, pulverized an absolutely monstrous dinger off New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia.

The ball traveled 470-feet, which is good for the longest home run at Yankee Stadium of the ‘Statcast‘ era, which began in 2015.

Manny muscle! This 470-ft blast is not just the farthest HR of 2017, it’s the longest homer at Yankee Stadium in the #Statcast era.

According to ESPN, it was also the second-longest homer hit at the new Yankee Stadium since it opened in 2009.

If the Orioles neglect to properly compensate Machado with a gargantuan contract, he could easily end up hitting a plethora of dingers against them at Yankee Stadium while wearing pinstripes.
