Marcus Stroman Goes Opposite Field for First Career HR with Toronto Blue Jays

American League pitchers don’t get a chance to hold the lumber all that often, but Toronto Blue Jays hurler Marcus Stroman made the most of his opportunity on Thursday night.

His opposite field shot made Stroman the first pitcher in 14 years to hit a homer for the Blue Jays.

And at all of 5-foot-8, 180 pounds, it’s not like he has some sort of physical advantage.

The 26-year-old would go on to pitch 5.2 scoreless innings as well, as the Blue Jays shut out the Atlanta Braves 9-0 in a one-sided beatdown.
