Yankees' Aaron Judge Miraculously Makes Phenomenal Diving Catch Against Rays

By Timothy Downs

The New York Yankees are playing far better (25-16, good for first place in AL East) than anyone expected this season, and much of their success can be attributed to rookie outfielder Aaron Judge‘s offensive prowess.

Judge leads MLB with 15 home runs, but clobbering dingers isn’t the only thing the 25-year-old is making the highlight reel for lately.

On Sunday, Judge made what can only be described as an absolutely phenomenal diving catch that started a crucial double-play against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Judge’s exceptional catch saved the game for New York, as the Yankees held on to their 3-2 lead through the final three innings to cement their 25th win of the 2017 campaign.

From ESPN:

Judge made a full extension diving backhand catch on the right field warning track in the sixth to rob Evan Longoria of a tying extra-base hit, starting a double play that doubled up Corey Dickerson at first.

“Obviously, one of the biggest plays for us this year,” Sabathia said.

Judge said he had a good read on the ball off the bat.

“Saw I might have a chance, and just dove for it,” he added.

Have a day, Aaron!
