Steve Scalise, Aides Wounded in GOP Congressional Baseball Shooting

By Anthony Blake

Lawmakers were practicing on the baseball diamond in Alexandria, Virginia when gunfire rang out, wounding several aides and congressman Steve Scalise.

Scalise, a representative from Louisiana, was hit in the hip and rushed to a nearby hospital.

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul joined MSNBC to recount the events of the morning.

President Donald Trump issued this statement via Twitter.

The Democrats practiced on the same field earlier in the morning, so this was no doubt a targeted incident.

Hopefully those injured make full and speedy recoveries.
