New York Mets Exchange Words With Yasiel Puig After Slow Home Run Trot

By Anthony Blake

Admire your home run for just a millisecond too long and the hurt feelings police around MLB will let you know about it.

That’s what happened to Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig on Wednesday night after he belted a three-run homer against the New York Mets.

Sure, Puig stared at the bomb for a bit longer than usual and his trot around the bases wasn’t necessarily expedient, but come on.

It’s time for guys to stop taking themselves so seriously and alienating fans due to the lack of fun.

If the NFL can ease up on touchdown celebrations, guys in baseball need to swallow their pride and let players gaze at their long ball for a little while if they please.
