Tim Tebow was promoted from the low-A Columbia Fireflies to Advanced-A Port St. Lucie Mets earlier this week in a move that did not come without controversy.
Tebow’s mediocre at best statline at the time (.220 with 3 HR and 23 RBI) clearly didn’t warrant a reward, and many believed the New York Mets simply wanted to cash in on Tebow’s ability to draw at the ticket office in his home state (Florida).
Just two games later, Tebow clobbered his first dinger for Port St. Lucie on Wednesday night.
That did not just happen! @TimTebow goes deep …2-run shot for the @stluciemets @CBS12 #tebowmania …call him up @Mets !! pic.twitter.com/KQifaIhDq5
