Pablo Sandoval Back to San Francisco Giants After Boston Red Sox Release

By Anthony Blake

One of the worst free agent signings in the history of the Boston Red Sox is headed back home to where it all began with the San Francisco Giants.

Pablo Sandoval was recently released in Boston and subsequently inked a minor league deal with his former team out west.

Sandoval will begin playing for Triple-A Sacramento after he has passed a physical.

Weight issues were a primary culprit in Sandoval’s failure with Boston, but his struggles went deeper than just a few extra pounds.

Perhaps this rebirth in the place where it all began will help the three-time World Series champion and 2012 World Series MVP.
