Kershaw Makes Incredible Play and Throws a Tantrum

It was an up and down start for Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw on Tuesday night against the Oakland Athletics. In the second inning, the two-time reigning Cy Young Award winner made an incredible spinning back-hand grab of a comebacker for the third out.

In the very next inning, Kershaw thought he had struck out Danny Valencia, but home plate umpire Todd Tichenor disagreed. On the next pitch, Valencia hit a tapper towards third base that Kershaw fumbled and was unable to make a play on. The left-hander then spiked the ball into the ground in front of him before firing the ball nearly as hard as he could into the Dodgers dugout. Make sure to check it all out in the two videos above.

Dodgers' Ball Boy Takes an Embarrassing Tumble

I personally think being a ball boy at a Major League Baseball game is tougher than it looks. You have to deal with some extremely hard hit balls that could carom off the wall, and you have to do it with 40-plus thousand unforgiving fans watching.
