Pick: Jones
Jones has too many weapons. Rampage’s best chance is his headhunting pays off.
Josh Koscheck (-550) vs Matt Hughes (+375)
Pick: Koscheck
At this point in their careers, Koscheck has the advantage in all areas over Hughes. Unless Koscheck is done after the orbital injury, he should win this fight.
Travis Browne (-375) vs Rob Broughton (+275)
Pick: Browne
Browne has been doing pretty well in his UFC run. He’s beaten much better competition than Broughton and is more well-rounded.
Nate Diaz (-260) vs Takanori Gomi (+200)
Pick: Gomi
Gomi may no longer be a champion, but he still possesses a strong striking and wrestling game. Nate hasn’t shown the level of skill his brother has.
Ben Rothwell (-350) vs Mark Hunt (+250)
Pick: Rothwell
Unless Rothwell has problems due to the long layoff, he should be able to take Hunt down and submit him.
Tony Ferguson (-350) vs Aaron Riley (+250)
Pick: Riley
This is not going to be an easy fight for the TUF 13 winner. Riley has a great chance to win via takedowns and control.
Tim Boetsch (-155) vs Nick Ring (+125)
Pick: Boetsch
Boetsch has looked good since moving to middleweight. Ring has not been impressive.
James Te Huna (-140) vs Ricardo Romero (+110)
Pick: Romero
If Romero fights smartly, he should be able to take Te Huna down and work to a submission. Te Huna’s only chance is landing a big power shot.
Takeya Mizugaki (-220) vs Cole Escovedo (+175)
Pick: Mizugaki
Mizugaki’s wrestling, toughness, and experience should allow him to beat the younger man in this matchup.
Eddie Yagin (-135) vs Junior Assuncao (+105)
Pick: Yagin
This should be a really close fight. Yagin has beaten better opponents, and hasn’t been beaten in the ground game for awhile.
