UFC on Fox 4 is an interesting card and a compelling watch. Do you want to make it a bit more interesting?

The betting odds for the card are here.

UFC On FOX 4 Odds For The Main Card:

Mauricio Rua (-400) vs. Brandon Vera (+300)

Lyoto Machida (-370) vs. Ryan Bader (+280)

Jamie Varner (-115) vs. Joe Lauzon (-115)

Mike Swick (-250) vs. Damarques Johnson (+190)

UFC On FOX 4 Odds For The Undercard:

Phil Davis (-600) vs. Wagner Prado (+400)

Josh Grispi (-180) vs. Rani Yahya (+150)

Manny Gamburyan (-150) vs. Michihiro Omigawa (+120)

Cole Miller (-140) vs. Nam Phan (+110)

Phil de Fries (-220) vs. Oli Thompson (+170)

Ulysses Gomez (-250) vs. John Moraga (+190)

Best Value Picks

1. Ryan Bader (+280) – Machida is 1-3 in his last four fights. Honestly, I think Mauricio Rua defeated Machida in their first fight. That would make Machida 1-4 in his last five. The win came against an old man, Randy Couture. Based on their history, Machida should be the favorite but that doesn’t mean he will win. I think Bader is younger, stronger and hungrier. I’ll take Bader to win.

2. Jamie Varner (-115) – I’ll be honest, I’m not a Joe Lauzon fan. He has some nice wins over big names but I think that he is vastly overrated. I just think that Varner is a better fighter. Given -115 on both fighters, I’ll take Varner and laugh to the bank.

3. Nam Phan (+110) – Miller is very inconsistent. I like Phan’s boxing acumen. He’s one of the few UFC fighters who utilize punches to the body. I think Phan will control the fight with his striking and win a decision.

Wild Card

1. Damarques Johnson (+190) – Make no mistake about it, Swick is a more talented fighter. But ring rust comes into play after a two year layoff. I’ll stay away from it but I don’t hate a bet on Johnson here.

Stay Away

Mauricio Rua (-400) vs. Brandon Vera (+300)

There’s no value in that line. Talent-wise, the line is about right. Shogun is oft injured lately though. And I have questions about his mentality after turning down a Glover Teixeira bout. Vera is not a great fighter but he is adept at striking and I don’t see Shogun taking the fight to the ground. I don’t see many scenarios where Vera wins but I wouldn’t be surprised if a kick to the face drops Shogun. Don’t touch it with a 10 foot pole.
