Japan’s Kotetsu Boku and South Korea’s Soo Chul Kim have now etched their names in MMA history by becoming One Fighting Championship’s first title holders.

Boku defeated Zorobabel Moreira to win the One FC Lightweight championship while Kim beat Brazil’s Leandro Issa via K.O. in the second round to capture the One FC Bantamweight championship at One FC: Rise of Kings on, Oct 6.

By defeating Issa, not only did Kim win One FC’s bantamweight crown, but also he avenged a decision loss he suffered at the hands of the Brazilian back at One FC’s first event in September 2011.

Boku, who is also the Shooto Welterweight Pacific Rim champion, may find his next challenger sooner than he thinks.

In the same event where Boku and Kim were crowned champions, former Dream champion Shinya Aoki and French fighter Arnaud “The Game” Lepont headlined the card. Aoki submitted Lepont 85 seconds into the first round via triangle choke.

After the fight Aoki voiced his desire to fight for the lightweight championship.

In addition to crowning their first champions, One FC would also see three fighters advance in their bantamweight grand prix.

Former UFC champion Jens “Lil’ Evil” Pulver advanced to the next round after earning a technical decision over Yanfei Zhao. Zhao had kicked Pulver in the groin after Lil’ Evil was controlling most of the fight. Unable to continue, the judges awarded the decision to the former UFC champion.

Shooto Featherweight champion Masakatsu Ueda also advanced to the next round by defeating Min Jung Song while URCC Flyweight Kevin Belingon  made short work of Yusup Saadulaev with a knockout in the first round.

There is no word whether or not the winner of the bantamweight tournament will receive a championship match against Kim.

There was also going to be a match to crown One FC’s first featherweight champion. However the match was scrapped before the event.
