Bellator 78 kicks off tonight on MTV2 and features some exciting bouts in the welterweight division.  Headlining the card is a terrific welterweight bout between Lyman Good and Michail Tsarev.  Tsarev comes out of the RusFighters Sport Club out of RussiaBoth. Good started his career with a commanding 10-0 undefeated record that included coming up with the Bellator belt. Ben Askren took that title from Good.

Both have had very clinch-heavy battles, but went about their matches in different ways. Good is an aggressive fighter who is known for bullying his opponents. He also doesn’t why from dirty boxing, which is how some say he won against Jim Wallhead.

Tsarvev is more of a submissive artist who neutralizes the stand-up game of his opponents and follows through on dragging the fight down on the mat. Tsarev’s strength is on the ground, which is how he beat Tim Welch in round 2 with a rear naked choke.

Both fighters have different strengths and weaknesses. If Tsarev is able to take Good down consider Good to be done with. If the fight manages to stay on it’s feet, Good has a good chance of being victorious. If Good can extend the fight to past the second round, which is Tsarev’s weakness as he usually tires out around that point, Good will have the advantage. Both of these fighters like to throw heavy hands, which should make their bout all the more entertaining.  Be sure to check out the live results below.

Dana White Doesn’t Think Conor McGregor Can Beat Rafael dos Anjos

Things are getting interesting ahead of UFC 196. The headlining fight at that March 5 pay-per-view event will see UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor move up to lightweight to face the champion of that division Rafael dos Anjos. If McGregor succeeds he will become the first UFC fighter to hold belts in two different divisions simultaneously. The oddsmakers have McGregor as the favorite ahead of the fight. UFC president Dana White doesn’t necessarily hold the same opinion.
